New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart underwent surgery that will likely keep him off the field for at least the remainder of the 2026 regular season. However, there's been some speculation that the QB could rejoin his team later this year if they play their way into the postseason. Giants head coach John Harbaugh addressed that possibility when speaking to reporters on Wednesday.
"I think he tweeted out he's going to be back for the playoffs. Did he put that out there? No, maybe he just texted me that.
"Maybe that's a little ambitious," he added. Dart injured his MCL, PCL and meniscus during the Giants' Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The typical return timeline for meniscus repair surgery is 4-6 months.
Jameis Winston took over as the Giants' QB1 following Dart's injury. However, the team traded for former Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy earlier this week.
The 2-1 Giants will host the Arizona Cardinals for a Week 4 matchup at MetLife Stadium this coming Sunday.
