The singer's band with producer Daniel James released their second project on Wednesday

Six months after Hayley Williams and producer Daniel James launched their new band, Power Snatch, with EP1, the duo is back with part two. On Wednesday, EP2 released on Bandcamp with four songs including “Machete,” “New Legs,” “Born Dead,” and “Hell Is a Highway.” The excellent quartet carries a dose of Nineties alt-rock, while Williams’ vocals sink into the potent lyrics and discordant, dreamy instrumentals. To promote the surprise drop, the band shared a clip of the surreal 1973 animated film Fantastic Planet against the lead track, “Machete.” Trending Stories Slipknot and Sid Wilson Part Ways After Nearly 30 Years Matthew McConaughey Gives Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ a Bluegrass Spin on ‘Fallon’ Return of the Kings: Inside Rush’s Fifty Something Tour Why Was It So Hard for Sam Cooke’s Grandkids to Drop a Soul Album?

Williams released her most recent solo album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, last year. Back in December, she covered the Judee Sill classic “Lopin’ Along Thru the Cosmos” with Florence Welch and her Rolling Stone cover co-star Jack Antonoff. In April, Noah Kahan stopped by Williams‘ Nashville show to perform “Downfall” during her second of three nights at the Ryman Auditorium, on her first-ever solo tour.

After wrapping her Bachelorette Party tour in June, Williams announced that she’ll embark on another tour, dubbed The Hayley Williams Show, with performances across North and Latin America. The trek kicks off on Sept. 3 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and extends through Nov. 27, when Williams will wrap with a performance in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The North American dates during The Hayley Williams Show will be supported by Magdalena Bay and Rico Nasty, while the Latin American leg will feature Annie DiRusso.
