Korea’s DRX Corp. and PT Nuon Digital Indonesia signed a strategic partnership in Jakarta to expand gaming and entertainment ties between Indonesia and Korea, starting with an entertainment festival called DRX Homefront Indonesia and a joint game publishing initiative between the two countries. The agreement pairs DRX’s esports, content production and fan engagement experience with Nuon’s local distribution network, creator relationships and knowledge of the Indonesian market. The two companies plan to start by exploring three areas: live entertainment, game publishing and talent development.

Indonesia’s population of more than 280 million, its mobile-first consumer base and its appetite for Korean entertainment make it a market both companies pointed to directly in unveiling the deal. It requires the right local knowledge, relationships and execution. Working with Nuon gives us the opportunity to develop experiences that reflect what Indonesian audiences want while creating stronger connections with Korea’s entertainment industry.” The companies will explore developing DRX Homefront Indonesia as a flagship festival in Jakarta built around gaming and entertainment, drawing in players, fans and creators from both countries.

Plans on the table include competitive gaming showcases, community programs for creators, fan meet-ups and concert-style shows featuring K-pop acts. On the publishing side, the partnership will look at bringing select Korean game titles into Indonesia while helping Indonesian-developed games reach Korea. That would put DRX and Nuon in charge of everything from picking titles and adapting them for the local market to marketing, signing up players, getting the games into stores and handling payments.

The companies also plan to bring pieces of DRX’s existing academy setup to Indonesia, with organized coaching, camps held in Korea and routes for Indonesian players to break into the region’s pro gaming circuit. This collaboration reflects our commitment to continuously expanding Indonesia’s digital entertainment ecosystem through international partnerships.” DRX and Nuon plan to form a joint team to map out their initial projects and how the rollout will work, with more specifics expected once those plans come together. The Nuon deal extends a broader push DRX has been making beyond its esports roots.

The company recently detailed plans to move into K-dramas and game publishing through its subsidiary WebsCreative, including agreements around two unannounced, fully cast K-drama projects with major Korean broadcasters. Yang has described the goal as building DRX into a digital entertainment company that keeps esports as one pillar among several, with Southeast Asia named as a priority region for that growth – a strategy the Jakarta signing puts into practice.
