The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player is entering his ninth season in the league, and it's a new era for him without John Harbaugh as head coach. The Ravens hired Jesse Minter, former Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator, for the head coaching vacancy this offseason after firing Harbaugh.
The team also hired a new offensive coordinator, Declan Doyle, after Todd Monken left, and Doyle has since become the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Doyle, previously the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator, has created an all-encompassing offense for the Ravens, according to Jackson. "There's a lot of moving parts with our offense.
There's guys flying around. I don't want to say it's a one-trick pony, because it's far from that. It's everything you need in an offense: play action, dropback, run game; it's everything you want in an offensive system," the Ravens QB told Adam Schein from Mad Dog Radio on SiriusXM.

Last season, Baltimore ranked exactly in the middle of the NFL in offensive yards per game, averaging 332.2 per game. Their new offensive coordinator's former team, the Bears, ranked sixth overall.
The Bears benefited from former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their head coach calling plays, but Doyle worked with him to devise a highly effective offense for quarterback Caleb Williams and his teammates. Per a Baltimore Ravens report, Doyle was responsible for speaking to the Bears' offense at halftime and making key adjustments. The results showed in multiple second-half comebacks by the Bears last season.
Minter's former team, the Los Angeles Chargers, also ranked several spots higher than the Ravens for offensive yards per game. Minter's background is as a defensive coordinator, so having Doyle as his playcaller appears to be a major boost for Jackson and the Ravens' offense. While it doesn't mean the new offensive system installed in Baltimore will make them one of the best in the league, based on Jackson's remarks, it seems they could be on the right track towards a big season.
