Lamar Jackson enters the 2026 NFL season under more pressure than maybe any player in the league. Despite winning two league MVPs at just 29 years old, he still hasn't won a Super Bowl or locked down a long-term deal with the Baltimore Ravens. He, therefore, heads into this season with the pressure of not only winning, but also of securing his financial future.
Jackson insists, though, that the only pressure weighing on him is the one he puts on himself. "I don't feel like I have anything to prove to anyone but myself," he said. We've got to stay dialed in," Jackson added of what would make this season special.
"I believe we have a lot in store. New season, new breath of fresh air. My guys are ready to get out there and start flying," Jackson said.

He already holds the all-time record for career rushing yards by a quarterback with 6,552, and he's still in the prime of his career, even coming off a down year.
Last season with the Ravens, Jackson posted 2,549 passing yards and 21 passing touchdowns with seven interceptions, along with a career-low 349 rushing yards and two rushing scores. The disappointing season, though, has mostly been chalked up to injuries — Jackson dealt with both a hamstring injury and a back contusion last season, limiting him to just 13 games. But according to Jackson, he's fully healthy now and appears ready to bounce back, unconcerned about the Super Bowl narrative that's followed him and his future in Baltimore.
Both Jackson and the Ravens front office have made it clear they intend to pick up contract negotiations after the season, but exactly what that figure comes down to will depend on what Jackson can do this year. Nine seasons in, everybody's expecting a Super Bowl from a generational talent like Jackson, even if he doesn't feel that pressure himself.
