Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz reaches a milestone not seen since Lamar Jackson after a dominant win over Stanford.

Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz is putting together an impressive season, and his latest performance has placed him in rare company alongside one of the greatest players in program history. Kienholz accounted for more than 300 yards of offense and three touchdowns Saturday, accomplishing a feat no Louisville quarterback has matched in nearly a decade. The Ohio State transfer reached those marks for the fifth time this season during Louisville's 52-24 victory over Stanford.

According to ESPN Insights, Kienholz's five games with at least 300 yards of total offense and three touchdowns responsible for are the most by a Louisville quarterback in a single season since Lamar Jackson recorded 10 such performances in 2017. Kienholz completed 20 of 28 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns against Stanford while adding 62 rushing yards and another score. His performance helped the Cardinals secure their third consecutive victory and improve to 5-3 on the season.

Louisville entered halftime leading 24-17 before pulling away in the second half, outscoring Stanford 28-7 over the final two quarters. Running back Isaac Brown also delivered a standout performance, rushing for 139 yards on nine carries, including a 75-yard touchdown run. However, Kienholz's latest achievement carries historical significance for a program that once featured one of college football's most electrifying quarterbacks.

Jackson became Louisville's first Heisman Trophy winner in 2016 and followed that campaign with another outstanding season in 2017. His ability to dominate opponents through the air and on the ground helped establish him as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in college football history. While Kienholz still has considerable ground to cover before approaching Jackson's overall accomplishments, his production this season has given Louisville another dynamic presence at quarterback.

Under head coach Jeff Brohm, Kienholz has demonstrated the ability to extend plays, generate explosive gains and contribute as both a passer and runner. Those qualities have become increasingly important for a Cardinals offense looking to maintain momentum during the final stretch of the regular season. Saturday's victory provided another example of that versatility.

For Kienholz, the comparison to Jackson is an impressive accomplishment on its own. But with several games remaining, the Louisville quarterback has an opportunity to continue building a season that is already drawing attention for its place in program history.
