The Los Angeles Rams took care of business against the visiting New York Giants on Monday night, securing a 28-6 final score at SoFi Stadium. The Rams notched this victory despite the absence of their best offensive weapon, wide receiver Puka Nacua. Veteran pass catcher Davante Adams stepped up in a big way with Nacua on the sideline, delivering a vintage performance reminiscent of his heyday as a three-time First Team All-Pro receiver.
Adams reeled in eight catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns, coming up just short of the single-game career high of 206 yards that he set with the Green Bay Packers in 2021. Reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford was asked about Adams' performance postgame. "It's a testament to how he takes care of himself and how he's done that for a long time," Stafford said.
"He's an elite player, he made all sorts of plays today. He made contested catches, he ran great routes, he got open — he did it all for us. ... We leaned on him big time tonight and he came through for us."
