The New York Giants got off to a nightmare start in Monday night's Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Quarterback Jaxson Dart took a major hit in the first quarter, going down in some serious pain while grabbing his knee on the field at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium. He was able walk off the field under his own power and was evaluated by medical personnel in the blue tent.
Dart limped back into the locker room and was listed as questionable to return. At the end of the first quarter, Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers also sustained what appeared to be a right shoulder injury. Fortunately for New York, he was able to return to the field in the second quarter.
Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons took to social media with his reaction to this injury-riddled first quarter. "I freaking hate injuries man!! I hate they are apart of football!" Parsons wrote on X.
Parsons suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 15 of the Packers' 2025 season. The three-time First Team All-Pro pass rusher is targeting a return date around Week 5 or Week 6 this year. Veteran backup Jameis Winston came in to replace Dart as the Giants' quarterback.
With Dart in the locker room, New York went into the halftime break down 14-3.
