A creative collaboration between participant and filmmaker explores how it feels to live and perform with Down syndrome- Directed by Ida JoglarWatch on Psyche

When asked what kind of film she would make, Annabel Hernandez had a simple answer: one with her family, her friends and music, of course. In My Name is Annabel, the filmmaker Ida Joglar helps Hernandez, who has Down syndrome, bring her artistic vision to life. Joglar follows Hernandez around her home city of Wichita, Kansas as she auditions for a play, works at her grandparents’ ice cream shop and spends time at a day programme for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Hernandez also sits down for a series of conversations with her friends and family, which touch on everything from their favourite TV shows to bigger questions about what it means to live with, or love someone with, Down syndrome.
