Bela Bajaria oversees 27 local teams around the world who produce content in 50 different languages for more than 50 countries. In France, she points out, Netflix invests €250 million ($279 million) annually on film and TV while in Mexico the streamer recently committed to spending a billion dollars between 2025 and 2028. But, she reminded the audience, Netflix, despite its $20 billion annual content budget, is a “financially disciplined” company – something that was clear when the streamer pulled out of acquiring Warner Bros. For Bajaria, the brief opportunity to own a legacy studio didn’t distract from her core mission.

We’re going to continue to do this, eye on the ball, making great things that people love around the world.”
