The NFL is moving the Week 5 matchup between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers to 1 p.m. ET, taking the division-rival contest out of its original 4:25 p.m. A Week 5 matchup between the reigning Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers is being flexed into the later window.
This decision comes as Bears star quarterback Caleb Williams will likely still be out as he continues to recover from the hamstring strain he suffered in Week 2. Additionally, the Packers have been underwhelming to begin the 2026 season — with their only victory coming in overtime over the New York Jets. The Bears took the field for a primetime, stand-alone "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles last night. 38-year-old veteran quarterback Case Keenum led Chicago to victory, throwing for 247 yards and two passing touchdowns while rushing for an additional score in the 27-7 win at Soldier Field.
The Packers also took the field for a primetime, stand-alone game in Week 3, falling to the Atlanta Falcons with a 35-14 final score on Thursday night. The Bears will face off against the Jets this coming Sunday, while the Packers will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
