Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson's 2026 season is likely over, according to multiple reports. Are the two-time MVP's days with the Ravens done as well? With Jackson now set to miss significant time for the fourth time in the last six seasons, some have speculated that Baltimore could trade the 29-year-old next offseason.
During Monday's episode of "First Things First," Nick Wright said he believes there is a "very, very, very real possibility" that Jackson is sent to the Miami Dolphins in a deal. The Dolphins (1-6) enter Week 9 with the third-worst record in the NFL, ahead of only the Los Angeles Chargers (0-7) and Tennessee Titans (1-7). Despite a brutal first half of the 2026 campaign, Los Angeles, for now, seems committed to Justin Herbert under center.
The former AP Offensive Rookie of the Year is a two-time Pro Bowler and earned the honor as recently as the 2025 season. Tennessee, meanwhile, is still backing former No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward in his second year in the league. Miami signed quarterback Malik Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million contract in March but he's been inconsistent in his first year as a starter.
Jackson and the Ravens inked a five-year, $260 million contract extension in 2023 but that only runs through the 2027 campaign. Baltimore restructured Jackson's contract in March to free up nearly $40 million in cap space, pushing his projected 2027 cap hit to around $84.5 million. The four-time Pro Bowler missed five contests during both the 2021 and 2022 seasons and four more games in 2025.
If Jackson is indeed sidelined for the rest of the 2026 campaign, that would add 12 more contests missed to his total.
