Brown's debut with the New England Patriots in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks certainly did not go the way he had hoped, as he left the game early after injuring his ankle during the third quarter. Now, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has spoken about Brown's injury, and it is clear that he is not feeling too optimistic about the possibility of the star wide receiver being good to go for Week 2. "We’re running more tests, but we’ll update you here next week.
Wasn’t able to finish the game, and we’ll continue to evaluate, continue to run tests. But don’t know if he’ll be available here going forward for next week, but we’ll see," Vrabel said. "I know he'll do everything that he can to get back as quickly as possible." These comments from Vrabel are certainly concerning.
With Brown expected to be an incredibly important part of the Patriots' offense this season, it would undoubtedly be bad news if he ends up officially being ruled out for Week 2 or even longer. The Patriots acquired Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles during this offseason. This was after the three-time Pro Bowler posted seven touchdowns, 78 receptions, and 1,003 receiving yards in 15 games during the 2025 season with the Eagles.
It will now be interesting to see what updates come next regarding Brown. The Patriots will undoubtedly be hoping that he is not dealing with anything too serious.
