The New England Patriots will play their Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots are entering this game with momentum, as they defeated the Buffalo Bills by a 29-26 final score in their last matchup. However, the Patriots have now been dealt some bad injury news before their game against the Raiders.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots have placed both fullback Reggie Gilliam and wide receiver Mack Hollins on injured reserve. This is undoubtedly tough news for the Patriots, as Gilliam and Hollins are two solid parts of their offense. Now, both players will miss a minimum of four games for New England after being placed on injured reserve.
Gilliam has appeared in four games this season with the Patriots, where he has one reception and four receiving yards. This is after he had two receptions and 24 receiving yards in 17 games with the Buffalo Bills last season. As for Hollins, he has posted 15 receptions and 209 receiving yards in four games this season with the Patriots.
He was a solid player for New England last season, too, as he posted two touchdowns, 46 receptions, and 550 receiving yards in 15 games. It will now be interesting to see how the Patriots adjust with Gilliam and Hollins out of the lineup from here.
