However, they decided to return to LSU for a fifth year of college eligibility. According to one report, multiple sources said neither player was on the LSU roster for this weekend's game, but LSU reportedly may have the option to add them later during the season. During a rant on ESPN, Finebaum called out Kiffin over his behavior, but also praised SEC commissioner Greg Sankey as a "hero" for stopping what might have been "one of the worst moments" in league history.

"We can all wrap our arms around Lane Kiffin and say he's a great coach, but in the end, he's a child. He's a 51-year-old man behaving like a 16-year-old, and the worst part, there are no adults in the room. ... If the presidents of the SEC took a vote today, they very well might vote to kick LSU out of the league," Finebaum said.
Finebaum contended that if they kicked LSU out of the league, fans would not be disappointed in that decision at all. Kiffin became LSU's new head coach earlier this year, while his former team, the Ole Miss Rebels, was on a College Football Playoff run. Once Kiffin took the job, his Ole Miss defensive coordinator, Pete Golding, took over as the new Rebels head coach.
