First, Ivie Gonsalves (who is the girlfriend of Nacua's brother and former NFL player Samson), posted a TikTok video showing the sibling putting groceries into his car. One fan responded by commenting, "Ask him if Puka is playing on Monday" and Gonsalves answered, "yeah, that man’s playing." A different commenter wrote, "Promise?" and the family friend said, "promise." Then, ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Nacua was "trending in the wrong direction" for the primetime contest and said on Monday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show" that it "certainly sounds like Puka Nacua is trending towards not playing tonight." For what it's worth, Gonsalves later deleted her responses to the fans' questions on TikTok, and wrote, "DISCLAIMER: i don’t know [expletive] about puka playing. i have zero information on that. do not base your fantasy teams or [expletive] off my page. also don’t ask." The 25-year-old pass-catcher finished the team's Week 1 loss vs. the San Francisco 49ers with a team-high five receptions and game highs in receiving yards (74) and targets (nine). Nacua and the Rams are slated to kick off against Giants at 8:15 p.m.
