The Los Angeles Rams were stunned 37-34 in overtime by the Buffalo Bills in "Monday Night Football," in a game the Rams had every opportunity to win at SoFi Stadium. After James Cook had his second fumble of the night, Matthew Stafford and the Rams were able to get into position for a potential game-winning field goal. However, kicker Harrison Mevis's attempt was blocked by the Bills, giving Buffalo life with time left in overtime.
Josh Allen and company took advantage, masterfully moving down the field, so that their kicker, Tyler Bass, could connect on the game-winner. After the game, Sean McVay didn't hold back with his feelings about losing in overtime at home to the Bills. In particular, he took the blame for his coaching decision that didn't put his players in the best position to win.

We're gonna have to regroup and reset ourselves, and it's been a while since I've been this pissed after a game, too," McVay told reporters. "None of it makes me feel good right now," he said when asked about the circumstances of who they played.
"I'm proud of the effort but none of how I feel is positive other than I'm proud of the resilience, the guts that our team displayed. "I don't even know what you wanna call it, but congrats to the Bills, and I'm excited about how we freakin' move forward," McVay said before walking away from the podium. McVay also told reporters he was "sick" with himself for not having a better play call than the conservative third-down play he called before his team's blocked field goal in overtime.
The Rams and Bills nearly combined for 1,000 yards of total offense in Monday night's game, with the Rams achieving a bit more than their opponents. They had 454 yards, with the bulk coming from Matthew Stafford, who finished with 383 yards and three touchdowns in the losing effort. On the other side, Allen and Cook were able to score three rushing touchdowns between them in the win.
It gave the Bills quarterback the first overtime win of his career, after he'd previously been winless. And it dropped the Rams to a disappointing 2-3 record to start their season, after beginning the season as the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl. They'll regroup and try to get back to winning against the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 18.
