The 3-1 Baltimore Ravens are tied with the Cleveland Browns atop the AFC North, and if they want to keep pace at the top of their division, they’re going to need a healthy Lamar Jackson. The two-time MVP left Sunday’s 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans with an ankle injury, and unfortunately for the Ravens, they don’t really have too much clarity on the extent of Jackson’s injury after further evaluation on Monday. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Jackson is dealing with an ankle sprain that is likely to keep him from playing against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.
In fact, Jackson’s injury could force him to miss multiple games depending on the severity. He’s completed 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and an interception with a 119.6 passer rating. He’s also added 144 yards and a touchdown on the ground as well.
If Jackson does miss any time, backup Tyler Huntley will start in his place. The 28-year-old Huntley completed 8 of 9 passes for 63 yards, and he ran for another 16 yards on four carries in relief of Jackson against the Titans over the weekend. Huntley is no stranger to filling in for Jackson.
He’s spent six of his seven-year NFL career in Baltimore, appearing in 26 games, throwing for 2,446 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, and rushing for 676 yards and three more scores.
