Ravens Share Concerning Quarterback News Ahead of 'TNF'

The Ravens quarterback room has been hit with the injury bug ahead of Thursday night's game versus the Jaguars.

The Baltimore Ravens' quarterback situation continues to get worse. The Ravens got Lamar Jackson back on Sunday after he missed three contests with an ankle injury, but he injured his thumb on the first play of Sunday's game versus the Buffalo Bills. He is set to undergo thumb surgery and be placed on the injured reserve list, putting him out for at least the next four games.

He could potentially miss the rest of the 2026 season. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley came in to replace Jackson, but he was also injured in the game. He was believed to have suffered a turf toe injury, but his official diagnosis hasn't been shared yet.

Coach Jesse Minter told reporters on Monday that Huntley "probably" won't play this week, especially since the Ravens have a quick turnaround to play on Thursday night versus the Jacksonville Jaguars. Minter noted that the team is unclear on Huntley's injury in the long-term, though. As for the Ravens' third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano, who made his NFL debut on Sunday coming in for the two injured quarterbacks, Minter didn't assure that he would 100% play on Thursday.

Minter said Fagnano "has a chance" to play on Thursday as he's currently dealing with an ankle injury. The Ravens need to scramble to find a solution at the quarterback position. They did sign Austin Reed to the practice squad on Monday likely to elevate him as Fagnano's backup.

Reed was on the Baltimore's practice squad during the preseason, but was cut before the start of the 2026 season. After being picked up by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2024, Reed has yet to make his NFL debut. The Ravens need to be aggressive in the trade market these next couple days if they want some options at the position come Thursday, especially against a strong Jaguars team.
