Red Wings Announce Sudden Dylan Larkin Injury News After Trade Request

The Detroit Red Wings have announced that Dylan Larkin has suffered an upper-body injury ahead of training camp.

As the Detroit Red Wings prepare for their training camp, they have announced some news about forward Dylan Larkin. While speaking with reporters, including The Athletic's Max Bultman, Red Wings' interim general manager Shawn Horcoff shared that Larkin has suffered an upper-body injury while training. In addition, Horcoff shared that Larkin will not be skating at the start of training camp.

Larkin being out for the start of training camp comes after he requested a trade from the Red Wings during the offseason. The 30-year-old center was also stripped of his captaincy by the Red Wings earlier this month. While Larkin is currently dealing with an injury, that likely will not stop teams from being interested in him.

He would be a major pickup for any NHL team that is looking for a top-six center. However, he has complete say over where he will end up being moved, as he has a full no-trade clause. Larkin appeared in 74 games last season with the Red Wings, where he posted 34 goals, 33 assists, 67 points, and a plus-3 rating.

He has also scored at least 30 goals in each of his last four seasons.
