Former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark has started a new project of his own, though he said the process of being fired left a mark.

Football analyst Ryan Clark has started his own studio show, “The Pivot Sports with Ryan Clark," in wake of his very public firing from ESPN. Despite his work with fellow former NFL players Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor, being dumped from the Worldwide Leader in Sports mid show leaves some scars, he told Jerry Brewer of The Athletic. Clark found out he was being let go during a commercial break for "NFL Live," and he didn't return to the set after he was informed of ESPN's decision.

Clark's departure — and the media attention around it — were certainly painful, but he indicated to Brewer that his reemergence on the media landscape comes, in part, from that experience. There are a lot of unknowns, and so there was a level of fear. Being laid off unlocked all of that.
