New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave did not participate in Wednesday's Week 5 practice session, landing on the injury report with a "rest" designation. Olave took the field for practice in a limited capacity on Thursday, but a new "foot" designation was added to the report. This new issue comes as a surprise to fans and reporters who saw Olave take a hit to the knee late in Monday night's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Trailing 45-17 with just over one minute remaining in the primetime contest, the superstar wide receiver limped off the field with what was assumed to be a knee injury. Olave ranks second in NFL receiving yards so far this season with 491, trailing only Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (498). He recorded his third 100+ receiving yard game of the year in Monday's loss to the Falcons, reeling in eight receptions for 116 yards.
While this "foot" designation could be cause for concern, the fact that Olave took the field for a limited practice is a positive sign for his Week 5 status. The 1-3 Saints will welcome the Minnesota Vikings for a Week 5 matchup this coming Sunday.
