Scottie Scheffler came through a final-round tussle with Viktor Hovland to cap off another PGA Tour season in style with FedExCup glory at the Tour Championship. Scheffler overturned a three-shot deficit during an eventful Sunday at East Lake Golf Club, where he mixed six birdies with two bogeys to post a four-under 66 and pull clear of the field. The world No 1 finished on 16 under and three strokes clear of Hovland, who led at various points on the final day, with Scheffler claiming the $10m first prize and joining Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only multiple FedExCup champions.
The PGA Tour takes two weeks off before starting its FedExCup Fall schedule with the inaugural Biltmore Championship from September 17-20, held in Asheville, North Carolina. Team USA will look to continue their Presidents Cup dominance a week later when they host the International Team at Medinah, having won the last 10 editions of the biennial contest.
