The Seattle Seahawks will face the San Francisco 49ers for their Week 5 matchup on Sunday, and there is no question that it is a massive contest. The Seahawks currently sport a 3-1 record, while the 49ers are a perfect 4-0. With this, the Seahawks would be tied with the 49ers at the top of the NFC West if they pick up a victory in the matchup.
Now, as the Seahawks prepare for their crucial game against the 49ers, they have signed a notable cornerback. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Seahawks have signed cornerback Trevon Diggs off their practice squad. In addition, Schefter reported that the Seahawks have placed cornerback Julian Neal on injured reserve.
With this move, the Seahawks officially have a new former All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler on their roster. Diggs will now be looking to make an impact after landing this golden opportunity with the Seahawks. Diggs appeared in nine games last season split between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers, where he recorded 27 combined tackles.
This was after he had 42 combined tackles in 11 games for Dallas during the 2024 season. Overall, there is no real harm in the Seahawks taking a chance on a player with a strong resume like Diggs. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact he can make for Seattle from here.
