Sherri Shepherd is stepping back into the spotlight this weekend with a new film that tells the true story of a 9/11 survivor.

The actress stars in “Angel in the Rubble: The Genelle Guzman Story,” which premieres on Lifetime this Saturday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. Executive produced by Shepherd, along with Robin Roberts, Linda Berman and Anne Carlucci, the film recounts the survival story of Genelle Guzman (Shepherd), a New York City transit worker who was buried beneath the North Tower after it collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001. Guzman was trapped for 27 hours before rescuers found her clinging to life under the rubble.

According to a movie description, the then-30-year-old was the final survivor recovered from Ground Zero. Viewers can watch “Angel in the Rubble: The Genelle Guzman Story” live on Lifetime this Saturday night, with the network rebroadcasting the made-for-TV movie throughout the weekend. Viewers can stream the film as it airs on TV through a live streaming service like Sling.

The popular streamer carries a live Lifetime feed on its Sling Blue or Sling Orange packages, both of which start at just $45.99/month. A subscription includes access to 30+ live television channels that you can stream online, plus the ability to stream on up to three devices at a time (for Sling Blue customers). Don’t want to commit to a monthly plan?

Sling Orange offers a 1-Day Pass that gets you unlimited streaming to all the channels on the platform for just $4.99 for 24 hours. Use the pass to watch “Angel in the Rubble” online without cable as it airs on TV. There is no commitment to continue on with a monthly plan after your Day Pass expires.

You can also watch the film on-demand the next day online at mylifetime.com, the network’s official streaming site. This is one of Shepherd’s first major roles since the TV host and comedian’s eponymous talk show ended this summer. The film, meantime, is based on Guzman (now married and known as Guzman-McMillan’s) 2011 memoir of the same name.
