The musical comedy movie, operating under the working title “Whitney Springs,” is in production at Paramount, which is also the home of “South Park.” Parker and Stone are working on the project under their Park County banner. Lamar is also producing alongside Dave Free and his pgLang company. Early loglines stated that “Whitney Springs” follows a Black man working as a slave reenactor at a living history museum who discovers his white girlfriend’s family once owned his ancestors.
The Ankler reported a slight variation on the story. The outlet claims that the film follows the Black slave reenactor as he clashes with the racist mayor of a Midwestern town, who will be played by Parker. Lamar, The Ankler said, has recorded several original songs for the project.
Parker and Stone debut “South Park” Season 29 on Sept. 16. Seasons 27 and 28 came after a two-year hiatus and shocked audiences with the inclusion of Donald Trump as a major antagonist. The show has continued to troll the president in the off season.
Parker and Stone recently changed the name of “South Park” to “South America,” in an apparent jab at Trump for changing the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and Lake Ontario to Lake America.
