Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed sent a warning shot to Texas regarding their college football matchup later this season.

The Texas A&M Aggies will close out their 2026 regular-season college football campaign with a matchup against the in-state rival Texas Longhorns on Nov. 27. Texas claimed victory in each of the last two matchups since the rivalry series resumed in 2024. In each of those losses, the Aggies were quarterbacked by Marcel Reed.

While Reed has yet to take down Texas, he's looking forward to the Longhorns' visit to College Station later this year. It sucks that we’ve lost to them twice. But, they’re coming here this year, so they’re gonna have to pay.

I’ve got something for them, for sure," Reed said during a past interview with USA Today. Everywhere you go [in Austin], you see that color orange. Texas, it’s the rival, bro.

You gotta hate them.” Reed and the Aggies were 11-0 before falling to Texas in their final game of the season in 2025. Then, they went on to lose to the Miami Hurricanes in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Texas A&M will begin its 2026 season with a matchup against Missouri State on Saturday.
