Three Eagles Starters Trending in Wrong Direction for Week 5

The Philadelphia Eagles could be very short-handed on offense in Week 5.

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in Week 5. However, they may be doing so without three of their offensive starters. Running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring), center Drew Kendall (knee), and wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) all missed their second straight practice on Thursday, putting their statuses very much in doubt for Sunday.

The Eagles will officially issue their injury designations for the game tomorrow, which is also when they plan to travel to London. So, Eagles fans will be keeping their eyes peeled for the injury report in less than 24 hours. If any were to miss this week's game, it would certainly be difficult to fill their absence.

But if all three are sidelined, the Eagles will have quite the uphill battle against the Jaguars. There's no understating what Barkley and Smith mean to the Eagles' offense. Barkley has rushed for 182 yards while Smith has reeled in 19 catches for 235 yards and one touchdown this season.

Meanwhile, Kendall took over as the starter center after guard Landon Dickerson went on injured reserve. To make matters worse, the Eagles' decision to trade Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens this week leaves them with even fewer options. Eagles wide receiver Marquise Brown (ankle), safety Marcus Epps (groin), and linebacker Jonathan Greenard (ankle) were also out of practice on Thursday.
