The Jacksonville Jaguars released their first depth chart on Tuesday, giving some more clarity on how the team views second-year combo wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter. The Jaguars traded up to the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 draft to select Hunter, who remained adamant throughout his draft process that he wanted to play for a team that would utilize him on both sides of the ball. He played significant snaps on both offense and defense before suffering a season-ending LCL injury midway through his rookie campaign.

Now as he approaches Year 2, it appears the Jaguars are leaning more toward the defensive side of the ball for Hunter. Hunter was listed as a backup wide receiver option behind starters Parker Washington, Brian Thomas Jr. and Jakobi Meyers. On the defensive depth chart, he was listed as a starting cornerback.

Jaguars general manager James Gladstone discussed the team's plan for Hunter earlier this offseason. "He is set to play both sides of the ball," Gladstone said in May. "The piece that I think we can expect to see is actually an uptick in corner usage.

Last year, it was a higher volume, higher percentage of wide receiver usage than it was corner. I think we can expect to see that corner percentile and count go up. "That's not to say anything impacts his availability and usage on offense.

It just means that cornerback usage will increase." The Jaguars will open up their season with a Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
