Tua Tagovailoa's days as a starting quarterback in the NFL might be over. The veteran quarterback signed with the Atlanta Falcons, who were in desperate need of a veteran to lead the team as former first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. recovers from a torn ACL. Just a few months into his tenure, though, it appears Tagovailoa might lose the quarterback battle to someone who finally returned to the field for the first time this week.
ESPN's Ian Rapoport revealed Tagovailoa has struggled to deliver, in preseason games and in practice, for the Falcons, who might have no choice but to start Penix with just a few weeks under his belt after returning from his torn ACL. "Tua’s play made that impossible, not just in the preseason game, which we’ve seen, but it sounds like practice as well.
