Shroud mushrooms are an important crafting resource in Enshrouded, but they're tricky to find. The key is to look up, not down; you won't yield any shroud mushrooms by collecting the cute colorful button mushrooms that spawn in any regular forest. Here's another hint: bring an axe.
Here's how to recognize and where to find shroud mushrooms in Enshrouded. Shroud mushrooms grow exclusively in the Revelwood region. As the name suggests, they only spawn in enshrouded areas.
A great place to farm shroud mushrooms is just southeast of the Ancient Spire in Revelwood; glide down and land in the Shroud south of the Gloomsbury Keep for a relatively safe gathering spot. If there are too many enemies, or if your shroud time is running out, follow the path to the southwest to leave the Shroud. The arrow on the map above points to the Shroud's exit point.
Shroud mushrooms look like gigantic versions of regular mushrooms. They usually grow in clusters of one to three stems, and emit a faint, green glow from underneath their caps. You need an axe to cut them down, after which you can collect five to 12 shroud mushroom pieces.
Among others, you can use your fresh batch of Enshrouded shroud mushrooms to craft goo, alchemical base, and several armor pieces. Shroud mushrooms are a crafting resource, not a cooking ingredient, so you won't be able to eat them.
