Will Anderson Jr. put together the best season of his young NFL career in 2025, recording 12 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 23 QB hits and three forced fumbles. Anderson finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting, trailing only superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett. Garrett and Anderson came together for a recent "Iron Sharpens Iron" workout, where the two defensive stars talked about their positions among the league's best.
"It's going to be a long time before you pass me," Garrett said to Anderson. It was about this close this year, and I didn't even hit my prime yet," the Houston Texans pass rusher replied. "That's the scary thing about it." Garrett secured all 50 first-place votes for 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year following his historic campaign with the Cleveland Browns.
The second-time DPOY set the new all-time sack record with 23. Now, Garrett enters the next chapter of his NFL career as a member of the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams will begin their regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 10.
Anderson and the Texans will start their year with a Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 13.
