Wladimir Klitschko has paid tribute to his ex-fiancé Hayden Panettiere following her sudden death on Sunday, saying that his family is in "profound shock and grief." "She built an incredible career through immense talent, while also facing the darker sides of a very demanding industry.
Nothing will erase the times we shared or the place she had in our lives." He added: "To our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was." Panettiere, 36, died Sunday at the age of 36 in Greenville, South Carolina. Police said officers and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive woman around 1:50 p.m. and that Panettiere was pronounced deceased at the scene. On Monday, the Greenville County Coroner's Office provided Newsweek with its initial report, confirming that a 911 call came in at 1:51 p.m. for a cardiac arrest at 701 Easley Bridge Road.
According to the coroner, EMS initiated advanced cardiac life support, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and Panettiere was pronounced deceased at 2:32 p.m. This is a breaking story.
