The New York Yankees have provided a very bad injury update regarding star veteran slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton has been hit with more bad injury news. While speaking to reporters, including MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, Yankees manager Aaron Boone shared that Stanton has suffered a moderate-grade strain in his left calf after falling during a running drill. In addition, Boone shared that Stanton's season could be over because of it.

This is just awful news for Stanton. The 36-year-old had been making progress with his recovery from his right calf injury. Now, with this latest update from Boone, the star slugger has injured his left calf.

Stanton has not been in the lineup for the Yankees since late April due to his right calf injury. In 24 games with the Yankees before getting his first calf injury, the 17-year MLB veteran posted three home runs, 14 RBI, and a .256 batting average. This is after he recorded 24 home runs, 66 RBI, and a .273 batting average in just 77 games for the Yankees during the 2025 season.

The Yankees certainly could have used Stanton back in their lineup down the stretch, as he is a star power hitter when healthy. Yet, they can now likely forget about that with this latest injury news.
