An Arizona Cardinals legend shared his blunt reaction to the team's impending trade involving wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Arizona Cardinals are on the verge of trading wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to another NFL team, with the Houston Texans emerging as a potential destination. According to reports on Saturday from NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cardinals are "finalizing a deal" to trade the wide receiver. They also reported that Harrison Jr. was told he would be inactive for the Cardinals' game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Whether that team is the Texans remains to be seen, but the insiders indicated that Houston was a team in trade talks with the Cardinals over Harrison Jr. to potentially reunite him with his teammate from college, quarterback CJ Stroud. The prospect of Harrison Jr. leaving Arizona so early in his NFL career hasn't sat well with Cardinals legend Adrian Wilson, who expressed his frustration on social media. He took to X to fire off a message on Saturday morning after seeing the reports of the impending Harrison Jr. trade. "I got so much to say but I certainly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or burn any bridges with anyone. I don't work for the team or NFL any longer and I hate what's happening to the @AZCardinals right now," Wilson said in his message.

After his playing career, which included failed attempts to play for the New England Patriots in 2013 and the Chicago Bears in 2014 before retirement, Wilson had several scouting roles with the Cardinals until 2022. Last year, he publicly commented on Harrison Jr. needing to block out the "outside noise" from critics amid high expectations as a high pick in the Cardinals' receiving room. "He needs time to develop.

He needs time to understand the nuances of the game, and it's not all on him," Wilson told Arizona Sports. Harrison Jr. became Arizona's fourth overall pick in 2024, making his stint with the Cardinals short. However, it seems the team is ready to build its offense around running back Jeremiyah Love and whoever they decide is the best quarterback option, now or in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Since joining Arizona in 2024, Harrison Jr. has racked up 104 receptions for 1,526 yards and 12 touchdowns. This particular season, he got off to a slow start with only five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Michael Wilson and Trey McBride are the most targeted receivers and rank first and second, respectively, in total receiving yards.
