The Kansas City Chiefs lost their last game to the Seattle Seahawks by an ugly 20-3 final score. The Chiefs are still in a good spot in the standings after this loss, though, as they have a 5-1 record and are first in the AFC West. However, at the same time, this kind of loss shows that Kansas City should be looking to add to their offense ahead of the trade deadline.
Now, the Chiefs are being linked to a notable trade candidate because of it. In a recent article for ESPN, Matt Bowen and Jeremy Fowler named the Chiefs as a top trade fit for Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs. With the Colts already making it clear that they are selling, Downs' name has been creating a lot of chatter in the rumor mill.
Thus, there is a real chance that he will be moved ahead of the deadline. Given the Chiefs' need for another wide receiver, it would make a lot of sense for them to pursue a player like Downs. He could thrive in Kansas City, and this is especially so when noting that superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes would be throwing him the ball.
Downs has appeared in seven games this season for the Colts, where he has posted 26 receptions and 307 receiving yards. This is after he had four touchdowns and 566 receiving yards last season for the Colts. With numbers like these, he would be a strong pickup for a team like the Chiefs.
