The injury report looks dire for the 2-2 Philadelphia Eagles before they play the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday. The Eagles ruled out Saquon Barkley, Marquise Brown, Marcus Epps, DeVonta Smith, and Drew Kendall. Kendall is a notable development for Philadelphia, as the center was ruled out of Sunday's game for a knee injury days after two-time Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens was traded along with a 2027 seventh round-pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.
The trade came one day after right tackle Lane Johnson retired and amid offensive guard Landon Dickerson being on injured reserve for a right knee bone bruise. During an appearance on CNN on Saturday morning, Eagles owner Jeff Lurie said the team's expectations are still high for the season, and Philadelphia is not in rebuild mode.
"We are gung-ho to win big and win our division first and go from there," Lurie said, via Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports. "We couldn’t be more excited. ... Our expectations are very high." Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is one of the best and most creative executives in the league.
He's built significant draft capital for 2028 (two picks in the first round and two in the second), which he could use to help facilitate a trade or two before the Nov. 10 deadline. Look for Philadelphia to be in the market for help in the trenches on both sides of the ball. In addition to injury concerns on the offensive line, the Eagles have recorded just four sacks through the first four games.
