Tua Tagovailoa isn't walking into his first season in Atlanta with a ton of breathing room. Instead, his preseason debut left something to be desired. He's trying to establish himself as the answer at a position where Penix remains very much part of the mix.
For now, Tagovailoa appears to have the advantage. But that advantage can disappear quickly if the veteran doesn't take advantage of his chances. The first preseason game didn't provide much reassurance. But, he's a talent, and better days may be ahead.
