Head coach Robert Saleh and the Tennessee Titans will open up their 2026 NFL season with a Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets, where Saleh spent just over three years as HC from 2021-24. The Jets offense ranked near the bottom of the league in each of Saleh's seasons with New York. That trend continued following his firing after Week 5 of the 2024 season.
Last year, the Jets finished 28th in both yards (263.6) and points (17.6) per game. However, Saleh believes that trend could flip for the Jets this coming season. "Geno [Smith] can still sling it," Saleh said on Wednesday, via NFL reporter Andrew Siciliano.
"I would not be surprised if [the Jets offense] finishes in the top half of the league." Saleh praised the Jets' offense unit from top to bottom, shouting out their offensive line, running back corps, wide receiver unit and tight end room. Sunday's Week 1 matchup between the Titans and Jets will kick off at 1 p.m.
