The Houston Texans designated wide receiver Tank Dell to return from the injured reserve, welcoming him back to the practice field on Wednesday. Dell suffered one of the most gruesome injuries the league has ever seen in Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season. The speedy pass catcher dislocated his knee cap and tore his ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus — resulting in multiple extensive surgeries to repair his left leg.
But after missing the end of the 2024 season, the entire 2025 season and the beginning of the 2026 season, Dell is approaching a return to the field for the Texans. Dell appeared in 11 games for the Texans in his rookie season, reeling in 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns. However, his debut campaign was cut short by a season-ending fibula fracture in Week 13.
Before his catastrophic injury in 2024, Dell had 51 catches for 667 yards and three touchdowns. The Texans are 0-4 to open up the 2026 NFL season. Tight end Dalton Schultz leads the team in receiving with 214 yards, followed by WR1 Nico Collins with 193 yards and three touchdowns.
Houston will face off against the Tennessee Titans in a Week 5 matchup this coming Sunday.
