New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson has topped 100 receiving yards in just two of his seven games so far this season. In this past Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Wilson reeled in just two catches for 26 yards on three targets — all representing season lows. The week prior, he had four catches for 44 yards in a loss to the New England Patriots.
When speaking to reporters on Thursday, Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich responded to questions about Wilson's puzzling lack of production. "We really are trying to get the ball to him early and often. We feel like he's been pretty productive this season, we want to get it to him even more," Reich said.
"We can create touches and scheme him open. That's why he's been productive — relatively speaking when you look around the league. "His production, I want it to be more.
I want him to be the best in the NFL, because that's what we think of him." Reich explained the Wilson's pull on opposing defenses has resulted in big plays for the Jets that don't appear on the No. 1 wide receiver's personal stat sheet. The Jets are 2-5 to open up the 2026 season. This coming Sunday, they'll face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in a Week 8 matchup.
