LSU head coach Lane Kiffin knew heading into Saturday’s game against the Ole Miss Rebels that he’d be the most-hated man in Vaught Hemingway Stadium. Kiffin embraced his villain role, playing up the bad blood between his Tigers and the Rebels in the week leading up to the game. As he was ushered off the field after Saturday’s game — a 32-24 win for Ole Miss — Rebels fans booed and shouted at Kiffin, letting him know how they felt after he jumped ship to join LSU last November.
But the fans weren’t the only ones relishing Kiffin’s misery. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pour some salt in Kiffin’s wounds. He took to social media to throw some shade at the Rebels’ former coach.
An a-s whipping in Oxford, Mississippi! #HottyToddy,” Reeves posted on X. Reeves and Ole Miss fans weren’t the only ones throwing shade Saturday night, however. During his postgame press conference, Kiffin too, let his petty side show while addressing Ole Miss fans and the record-setting crowd that showed up on Saturday night.

You’re welcome.” Kiffin also disclosed after the game that despite everything that was said about him since taking the LSU job, he was thankful for the six years he spent with Ole Miss.
