Ole Miss wide receiver Traylon Ray led all pass catchers in Saturday night's win over the visiting LSU Tigers, reeling in seven catches for 115 yards and one touchdown in the 32-24 victory. Ray appeared in just three games for the Rebels last year, recording no offensive stats under then-head coach Lane Kiffin. But in Kiffin's highly-anticipated return to Oxford this past weekend, the former West Virginia wide receiver put on a show for his new program leader, Pete Golding.
Ray explained his decision to stay put in Oxford following Saturday night's win. "I trust in coach [Pete Golding]. He's a great guy on and off the field.
That was the biggest part of my decision," Ray explained. "I wanted to be under a coach who believed in me. Coach PG believed in me, so he gave me the opportunity to come back and compete for a spot." With this victory over Kiffin and the Tigers, Ole Miss is now 3-0 to begin their 2026 campaign.
This coming Saturday, the No. 4 ranked Rebels are primed for a road-game matchup against the No. 21 ranked Florida Gators. Saturday's game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET from Gainesville's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
