The Philadelphia 76ers have a new-look squad heading into the 2026-27 NBA season. The team made two massive additions this offseason, trading for longtime Eastern Conference rival Jaylen Brown and signing LeBron James on a two-year contract. James and Brown now join a projected starting lineup featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe.
There's no question that this roster is packed with elite talent. But can this team reach the mountaintop and secure an NBA championship this coming season? According to Shaquille O'Neal, it's "championship or bust" for the new-look 76ers.
You got the great LeBron. You got great Embiid," O'Neal said on ESPN. "It was like three, four years ago Charles [Barkley] and I would always say how he's the best big man. [Nikola Jokic] has surpassed him, will be honest, making a name for himself.
