Los Angeles Rams superstar wide receiver Puka Nacua missed his second consecutive game on Sunday night, failing to take the field for his team's 30-26 loss to the Denver Broncos. Nacua is dealing with a groin/hip injury that's caused him to miss both Week 2 and Week 3. And while the team considers this a short-term injury, his status for this coming Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles is still in question.
Reports indicate that Nacua could have played in Week 3, but the team is choosing to be cautious in order to avoid further injury. Following Sunday's primetime loss to the Broncos, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith delivered a harsh message to Nacua.
"There's only 17 games in the season my brother, get your [expletive] out there," Smith said on First Take. "Puka Nacua, you've been a distraction off the [expletive] field. But we expect to see you on the field. ...
Get your [expletive] back on the damn football field." Nacua didn't live up to his elite expectations in Week 1, reeling in five catches for 74 yards and no scores. Last year, he had a league-leading 129 receptions for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Rams will kick off against the Eagles at 1 p.m.
