Lynn Patton, Deputy Assistant and Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump, shared a photo of herself with Teresa Giudice and her daughter Gia at the White House Monday on Instagram, saying that she believes Joe Giudice, who was deported after serving a prison sentence for federal fraud charges, deserves a second chance. According to Patton, Teresa and Gia Giudice "were at the White House at the invitation of the President & First Lady in honor of Columbus Day & Italian-American heritage." "I am not in charge of pardons. Nor do I decide who receives them," Patton said in the post, adding, "That is the President’s sole decision based upon recommendations from the White House Pardon Czar, @alicemariefree, and White House Counsel." "However, I will say this.
I believe deeply in second chances," she continued. "After all, the President and his family personally gave me one. In 2013 while working at the Trump Organization, I relapsed with cocaine addiction." The Giudice's, who's legal issues played out on Bravo's Real Housewives of New Jersey, both served time before Joe Giudice was deported to his native Italy in 2019.
Patton's comments come amid the Trump administration’s sweeping crackdown on illegal immigration and intensified deportation efforts. https://www.instagram.com/p/DeZXFK4lpMD/?hl=en&img_index=1 In a post on Instagram in June of 2025, Joe Giudice said, "President Trump, I respect you and I'm asking for a second chance," along with the hashtag "PardonJoeGiudice." Patton said she has known the family "for nearly two decades," adding that she has been to family gatherings at their New Jersey home. "Do I believe that Joe deserves a second chance? Unfortunately, it is not my place to decide," Patton said.
"But what I do know is that one of his beautiful daughters desperately needs him now more than ever." Joe and Teresa's third daughter, Milania, has had a series of high-profile incidents in recent months, including an arrest for domestic violence as well as body camera footage being released of her in the Miami airport. This is a breaking news story.
