WNBA All-Star player Angel Reese captured attention in Atlanta as she attended the Baltimore Ravens and Falcons "Sunday Night Football" game with friends and teammates. Reese powered her team to the WNBA Finals just days ago, helping to defeat the New York Liberty, 85-83. The three-time All-Star finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, and three assists in a game that was often chippy and aggressive as New York looked to stave off elimination while Atlanta looked to advance.
Unfortunately, Atlanta's NFL team didn't have the same success in "SNF," as the home team defeated the visiting Ravens, 30-23, in an overtime thriller. In addition to the loss, Falcons starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. left the game with a rib injury late in the fourth quarter. Sports, Reese showed off her throwing arm during warmups, prompting many to joke that she could play quarterback for the Falcons. On another X post from the Atlanta Falcons, fans celebrated the WNBA star's appearance at the game with various reactions in favor of the WNBA All-Star. "She’s NEVER leaving Atlanta.
Perfect spot for her," one commenter wrote of Reese. "I get she playing for Dream but should be wearing Purple," a commenter said of her NFL fandom. "A soon to be champion also watching soon to be champions," someone suggested, although the Dream are much closer to realizing that goal than the Falcons.
Others said, "she fit so well in Atlanta! So happy to have her" and "Crazy she’s about to win finals MVP and looks like a DIME." Another commenter asked, "The real question…which team is she rooting for???" due to Reese being from Baltimore, Maryland, but playing for Atlanta's WNBA team. "Yall do know she’s from bmore and a ravens fan right?" someone else asked with a crying laughing emoji.
Reese was born in Randallstown, Maryland, near Baltimore. She played high school basketball for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore and played college basketball for the University of Maryland for several seasons before transferring to LSU.
