The WNBA isn’t messing around with fans throwing objects on the court. During Thursday’s matchup between the Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks, one fan threw a green sex toy on the court. The incident happened while Sparks forward Jihyun Park was attempting free throws, and teammate Cameron Brink kicked the object aside while Dream star Angel Reese tried pointing out the offender to security.
The fan in question tried to book it out of the arena quickly — a video on social media showed the perpetrator, who was wearing a white Luka Doncic road Lakers jersey, shoving a Crypto.com Arena worker as he fled from Section 112. Fans throwing adult toys on the court was an issue during multiple games last year in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, and Los Angeles, and the WNBA is seemingly not taking it lightly this year. Twenty-four hours after the incident, the league has taken action against the fan, according to a report from Front Office Sports.
It’s believed that the individual involved in Thursday’s incident is not affiliated with that same group.
