Seneca Driver, one of the top prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, made a tackle Friday night that looked more like a wrestling move than a football play. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end for Boyle County (Kentucky) was chasing down Ballard cornerback Andy Shepherd after Shepherd intercepted a pass near the end zone. Driver caught Shepherd, lifted him off the ground and drove him to the turf in a takedown that quickly spread across social media.
Officials flagged Driver for a personal foul. Shepherd got up and moved toward Driver before Boyle County linebacker Philly Koorsen stepped between the players and separated them, according to multiple reports. The penalty did not change the outcome.
Boyle County won 38-3 to improve to 4-1. Driver, a senior from Danville, Kentucky is committed to Oklahoma and is considered one of the nation's top tight end prospects. On3 currently lists him as the No. 3 tight end in the 2027 class.
He committed to the Sooners on March 7. Driver helped Boyle County win Kentucky's Class 4A championship in 2025 and was named the state's 4A Player of the Year. He had 875 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, along with 67 tackles and five interceptions, during his junior season.

A July Rivals analysis ranked the Sooners' class No. 6 nationally at the time. Witten — an 11-time Pro Bowler in a 17-year NFL career — has unsurprisingly attracted a number of tight ends to Oklahoma's Class of 2027.

He was ejected from a Sept. 4 game against Lexington Catholic after receiving two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and subsequently missed Boyle County's next game because of a suspension. The turbulent season makes Driver a fascinating case study for Witten not only as a recruiter but as a molder of talent.
